About The Position
Looking for a hard-working, forward-thinking technician starting October 2026 - May 2027. We have a busy, equine-exclusive, elite practice with a strong sports medicine focus and 2 passionate DVMs. This job will challenge your mind and body - must have excellent work ethic, be able bodied to lift 30-50lbs, brave enough to hold heavy horse limbs, not mind sweating in the FL heat or getting wet while scrubbing horses, work as a team, and work under pressure. Horsemanship and safety around the horses is the MOST important. Further pre- and on-the-job training is provided for veterinary and equine knowledge that we expect you to know and employ. This is not a money-making job! This is a job for someone who is passionate about the horses, the industry, and about opening your eyes to how our equine athletes function in order to help them thrive. That said, raises are regularly given based on performance on the job. Please message for any further details. Housing not provided, housing stipend available for candidates relocating. No pets. 6 days per week (Mondays off), approximately 7:30am to 5pm. 1. Veterinary Assistant: Duties include assisting with soundness exams, ultrasound exams, radiographs, and preparing horses for joint injections. Daily inventory management in pharmacy and mobile veterinary vehicle. Medical history recording via video and typed notes and more. 2. Therapy Assistant: Duties include administering regenerative therapies to patients including shockwave therapy, hot and cold laser therapy, therapeutic ultrasound, and diathermy. Requires use of personal vehicle to transport therapy machines to appointments, tracked mileage reimbursed. Also expected to help the rest of the team between appointments as needed.
