About The Position

Live-In Equine Barn Manager/Barn Hand – Apopka, FL We are looking for an experienced, dependable equine barn hand or barn manager to live on-site at our private facility in Apopka. We are also open to a dedicated working student. Responsibilities * Daily horse handling and care * Turning horses in and out * Feeding grain and hay * Mucking stalls * Watering and monitoring horses * General barn maintenance and upkeep Compensation & Housing * Private on-site apartment provided * Weekly pay Requirements * Previous horse handling experience * Reliable transportation * Dependable, hardworking, and self-motivated * Non-smoker * Must complete one or more trial shifts before employment begins Working Student Opportunity * Bring your own horse * Lessons available as part of the position Schedule (Typical Day) Morning (7:30 AM–11:00 AM) * Feed grain and hay * Turn horses in/out * Muck stalls * Rinse horses after training * Refill water buckets Midday (12:00–1:00 PM) * Distribute hay * Check horses * Refill water as needed Afternoon (3:30 PM–6:00 PM) * Feed grain and hay * Turn horses in/out * Muck stalls * Refill water buckets Night Check (9:00–10:00 PM) * Feed hay * Give night grain * Final check of all horses Because this is a live-in position with horses requiring care throughout the day, we are looking for someone who can make this role their primary commitment and be consistently available to meet the needs of the farm and the horses.
