About The Position
We are seeking a highly capable and experienced groom to join our high-performance showjumping stable, Turiya Farms, as a Head Groom (Byron Bay Hinterland) This is a full-time role within a professional team working with top-level horses competing nationally. The successful candidate will travel with the team to major competitions across Australia, and potentially internationally in the future. You will be working 5 days per week, with split shifts across the day in line with stable routines. We are looking for someone confident, efficient, and highly organised who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role includes: • Full responsibility for the daily care and management of 10 horses, primarily performance horses • Daily grooming and presentation of horses to a high standard • Feeding, rugging, and structured daily care routines • Administering medications and managing horse health programs • Monitoring condition and identifying early signs of issues • Coordinating with vets, farriers, physios, and other specialists • Treadmill work, lunging, and assisting with exercise programs • Full competition preparation and show grooming • Cryotherapy, laser therapy, massage and recovery treatments, and equine nebuliser use • Property maintenance including stables, arenas, and general upkeep • Stock management and feed and supplement ordering • Supporting travel logistics and competition operations We’re looking for someone who: • Has minimum 3+ years experience in a professional showjumping or performance stable • Is confident handling a range of horses, including young horses and stallions • Has strong knowledge of horse health, feeding, and daily management • Is highly organised, proactive, and able to multitask under pressure • Takes pride in presentation and attention to detail • Can work both within a team and independently • Holds a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence, or is willing to obtain one What we offer: • Work within a professional, high-performance environment • Travel to major competitions across Australia • Exposure to top-level horses and systems • Supportive and driven team culture • On-site accommodation (house) available • Not eligible for 88 days • Pay above award rate
