About The Position
BE Sporthorses is a jumper only program also offering breeding and sales. We are located year round in Aiken, South Carolina. Our competition string includes horses from five years old to 3* FEI with ambitious riders and clients. A typical schedule will have us showing for two weeks at a time and when not showing we are training out of our purpose built facility. This is a groom position only - no riding. A successful applicant will be able to perform the following: - Daily horse care (hay, stalls, turn out/in) - Grooming (including plaiting and clipping) - Wrapping, lunging, cleaning tack - Work well in a team atmosphere - Maintain a safe and tidy work space at home and at shows - Take direction - Take pride in their job Other desirable attributes include: - Self starter - Attention to detail - Punctual - Neat and tidy - Responsible - Polite and appropriate with clients - Respectful of authority - Love for the horse and the sport Requirements - Driver’s license - Bank account - Maintain the company’s standards and image - Passport What we Offer - A positive and respectful work environment - Year round facility (no moving every six months) - Two bedroom shared apartments - Use of company truck while away at shows - Competitive salary + tips * This is a show groom position, however you may be asked to assist in plaiting/turn out of foals and young stock for sale photographs and videos. **Less experienced applicants are welcome to apply as I am very happy to teach provided you have a strong basic knowledge of horse care and are willing to learn.
