About The Position
🏡 Job Opportunity: Barn Assistant + Light Child Care (Live-In) Are you wanting to escape the heat of the summer from June-September!? Looking for a unique seasonal job that combines your love for horses with a relaxed family atmosphere? We’re a private farm on 50 acres just outside Chicago, seeking a reliable and experienced individual to help with our 3-4 horses and hang out with our two kids during the day while not performing horse related tasks. 🐴 What You’ll Do Horse Care: Feed, stalls, and turn out 3–4 horses daily. Additional Support: Administer meds, wrap, assist with basic clipping, and monitor general well-being. Barn Maintenance: Keep the barn tidy and organized. Kid Time: Spend a little time with our two kids when not on barn duty. They're self-sufficient and just need a friendly presence. 🧰 What We’re Looking For Experience with horse care. Ability to ad and perform basic tasks. Comfortable spending time with kids and childcare experience. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented. Valid driver’s license and able to drive truck/trailer if needed. Non-smoker, no drugs, pass a background check. 🏡 Perks Private, furnished housing provided on-site. Competitive pay based on experience. Please send your desired weekly rate. Option to bring your own horse (let’s discuss). Access to private indoor arena and brand-new outdoor arenas.
